September 5, 2008One of our last fall senior portraits sessions was close to sunset. I love sunset light- golden and soft. We had some fun with outdoor shots. Ms. “A” is beautiful and has gorgeous dark eyes. Can you see how they sparkle? Besides her beauty, she’s got a great mind and loves plays. I have a feeling the senior year in high school is going to bring a lot of good things for her, preparing her for journey into college.

September 4, 2008The making of great hair:
When Amanda called for her senior portrait, she wanted something different, free-spirited, and unique. So we went to Downtown Madison to hang out with her and her BFF. We strolled down through the State St alleys and found some cool urban scenery, brick walls. But it was Amanda’s personality that made the session so much fun! She’s upbeat, funny, spontaneous and she was up for anything. She climbed fireescape ladders, did a mini-shoot in a local vintage clothing store, some at the capitol and many other spots.
I know Amanda will have a hard time picking out her favorite senior portrait, there are so many good ones of her! Look at her amazing eyes!

August 19, 2008It’s my pleasure to photograph such beautiful models. “K” just made the session flow very easy. Thank you and very nice to meet you, “K”!
Miss K is from a small school in Lodi and she drove up to our studio in Madison for some fun senior portraits outdoors. The day was ending and the weather was warm, perfect for some outdoor senior pictures. We ventured around the Williamson St and alleys around the area. We found some cool urban spots, some nature spots, and had overall fun taking some cool senior shots!

Introducing Miss Emily
August 14, 2008I’d like to introduce our new assistant, Miss Emily. You will be greeted by her at our Grand Opening Playdate this Sunday. You may also meet her during at your portrait session. Miss Emily is very fun, outgoing and loves children. She aspires to be a childcare giver one day.
We’re so glad that Miss Emily, whom we have known for quite a while, is helping Funky Monkey Photography!
She also likes to dance at sunset with her BFF.

August 9, 2008I really like finding a new spot for each person I work with, a location unique to them. Half the fun is finding the spot, and then improvising with what we have to work with. Luckily, the area around our new studio, Willy St or Williamson St in Madison, has plenty of eclectic, urban, unique spots. Here are some we found during our senior portrait session with Chris.
